The Ultimate Runescape Gold Guide - Part One
Runescape is a massive multiplayer online RPG, and it’s grown tremendously over the past few years. It’s become so popular that it always has in excess of 140,000 people playing at one time, and has millions of members. It’s a very addictive Java game, and it’s totally online, so no need to download large files as such and go through a boring installation process. If you’re not familiar with Runescape, give it a go, we’ve got loads of articles on this blog that can help you out getting started and becoming familiar with Runescape.
Runescape’s currency is GP – short for gold pieces. It’s the standard currency for any medieval-style RPG. Like in reality, making lots of money is a challenge many like to rise to, and, in Runescape, it’s no different. People strive to make millions of gold pieces in Runescape, and you’ve got GP traders all across the Internet; places where you can actively buy Runescape GP! Yep, it’s become a big market, and ever-growing, and if you can get into it properly, you can actually make quite a bit of dosh yourself (not GP, but real money).
This has been the most common question in all of Runescape, and it’s pretty simple to answer if you ask someone who’s played Runescape long enough to figure out that there’s demand for a few certain materials that can bring you a lot of GP. For example, the demand for Yew Logs is always massive, along with the demand for certain runes, food, and smithing materials. Yep, it’s all to play for in Runescape – there’s ALWAYS demand.
There are many in Runescape who try to sell just about anything, and usually it’s utter crap. Pots, spades, all these small items; it’s just not going to make you a lot of money if any, the best thing to do if find a demand in an item that you can harvest/produce, and take advantage of that. I’ll give you an example.
If you log into World 1, you’ll see hundreds of people outside Varrock west bank. If you just walk around a bit, you’ll realise that there’s actually massive demand for Yew Logs. Now, let’s take advantage of it. Start woodcutting, start from basic trees, move onto oak, then willow, and then when you think you’re ready, move onto cutting yews. Yew logs go anywhere from 200-350GP each, and considering you can get them by just clicking on a tree, that’s quite a lot.
