Guide to 99 Firemaking

First of all, Runescape is a massive multiplayer online game that you can play from your browser. You do not need to be a member to get and enjoy 99 firemaking. Being a Member is just to get the firemaking cape, unless they change it or have changed it.

Also, another benefit of being a member is that if you want to chop your way to 99 firemaking, you have the option of the dragon woodcutting axe for faster chopping. Other than there isn't a huge benefit in actually doing the burning.

This guide is for members and non-members.
The highlight of 99 firemaking is the fact that you can get your first 99 skill and the cape is one of the best in most people's opinions.

Here Is My Guide:
Materials Before Starting:

Axe (Only if you want to get woodcutting experience up as well)
Money (1,737,308 gp total if you are going to buy)(Recommended Method)
Tinderbox (1 gp)
Determination

Here is a guide to keep yourself motivated to reach this near impossible goal of 99 firemaking:

You have to believe that you can get this ultimate goal of 99 firemaking.
Just make sure you take breaks every 15 - 30 minutes or you will get very bored and probably quit.

Remember: DO NOT GO TO TRAIN ANY OTHER SKILL RIGHT NOW. This is a crucial moment and if you go to train another skill, you are only hurting yourself and making it take even longer for your long awaited goal of 99 firemaking.
Focus on 99 firemaking.

Listen to some music while you are burning the logs.
Think of how far you have gotten in such a short amount of time!
One last major tip: Don't look at your experience after every time you finish burning a full inventory of logs. You will get discouraged by how far you still have left. Look at it every 30 - 60 mintues or so and try to make it random so you can see how far you have gotten.
Good luck!

Level 1 - Level 15

Take 62 gold pieces and buy or take your axe and chop regular logs: the beginning of your journey to 99 firemaking.

If you take the 62 gold pieces then go the general store. Buy a tinderbox for 1 gp (you have to do this anyway even if you chose to chop your wood so that you can get the woodcutting skill up as well). Then buy 26 logs and burn them. Rinse and repeat until you have accomplished 15 firemaking.

If you chose to take your axe and chop regular logs then chop 27 logs. Next use your tinderbox on all 27 of the logs. After that, keep on chopping and burning those regular logs until you achieve 15 levels of firemaking.

Congratulations! You have just completed your first step into the race to 99 firemaking.
Now there are two paths that you can follow. You may have seen them above, but if you haven't here they are:

You can buy all of your logs from the general store until level 99 firemaking
You can chop all of your logs until level 99 firemaking
Whichever you prefer is up to you. If you want a fast, cheap way of getting 99 firemaking, then definitely go for the buying option. If you would rather have almost two 99 levels and an even cheaper way, but ultimately slower, you should choose the path that involves cutting your own wood.

Level 15 - Level 30

This is your second step into getting that must have goal of 99 firemaking.

If you choose to buy all of your logs rather than chop them down, get at least 1098 gold pieces more to buy your next set of logs. (If you don't know how to make money well, check out my free guide to making millions in Runescape gold pieces. Here is a link: [insert link here]) Now, buy 26 oak logs from the general store and burn them. Next, buy more logs and burn them until you run out of that 1098 gold pieces in your inventory.

Great Job! You are now at level 30! This is a great level in firemaking and a good milestone for getting 99 firemaking so keep at it and don't give up!

Level 30 - Level 99

You are probably thinking, "Wow, is he serious?" Well, if you want a fast, cheap way to get to 99 firemaking, I am very serious. Now is the time for your determination to shine through.

If you choose to buy your logs then you will have to get exactly 1,737,148 gp. I know it is a lot of money, but if you follow my guide to making money (link above) or if you have your own strategy then you will easily get this money very fast. I suggest making this money before you start. After you have the required gp, start to buy 26 willow logs from the general store that has a lot, and make sure that you are buying for 12 gp each, no more than that or you will end up paying more. You'll have your goal of 99 firemaking at a breakneck speed.

If you choose to chop your logs then make sure you have at least an adamant axe by now. Also, get a rune axe once you have the level. Keep chopping and burning like before, but stick to willows as these are very, very, very quickly chopped. Then, burn them and repeat. You'll have 99 firemaking and possibly 99 woodcutting in no time at all.

Very Nice Job! You have just achieved a nice level 99. If you are a member to Runescape then go and buy the Firemaking cape and flaunt it around to everyone. Don't call people "noobs" that don't have a firemaking cape because that is annoying and does not help anything. Have a party at the party hall. Now you are ranked up their with the other greatest players in Runescape who have also achieved 99 firemaking.

Runescape Smithing Guide

There are two main parts to smithing in RuneScape: making the metal bars, and smithing them into useful items. Before you can start smithing your weapons and armor, you should first either mine the ores you need, or buy them from other players. Buying the ores or bars from other players may be faster than mining them, but it can be quite expensive.
In order to make a metal bar, you need to have the correct amount of ores, and many of the metals require another type of ore to make a bar. For a complete list, you can refer to the Smelting Chart. Each item you make will need a different number of bars to smith it, and that info can be found in the Smithing Chart for the specific metal.

Dwarven Stouts
These helpful drinks can be bought in the Rising Sun bar in Falador for 3gp per drink. They will raise your Smithing and Mining levels by 1 point for a limited amount of time, allowing you to smith objects a level higher than your actual level.

Mature Stouts & Beer
As a reward from the Forgettable Tale (of a Drunken Dwarf) Quest you will get 2 Mature Dwarven Stouts which will increase your Mining and Smithing levels by 2, not just the ordinary 1 level. When Brewing Beer there is a chance that it will become Mature and give extra bonuses. To make it more likely that it becomes Mature you can add "The Stuff" which is something you can buy as a reward from Trouble Brewing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Smelting Ores
Now that you've got all of your ores together, you should smelt them into bars so that you can make weapons and armor out of them. Just bring the ores to a Furnace, and choose the 'Smelt' option. You'll be able to choose which kind of bar to make, as well as the number of bars to smelt. By right-clicking the bar, you can make 1, 5, 10 or 'x' bars. You can also use an ore with the furnace to smelt 1 bar at a time.

Smelting with Magic
Another way to smelt all of your metal bars is to cast the 'Superheat Item' spell on the ores. This of course requires 4 Fire Runes and 1 Nature Rune, but it can be much faster than walking to a furnace to smelt your bars of metal. If you smelt Iron ore with Magic, all ores will be smelted.
Smelting ChartPicture Metal Bar Smithing Level Smithing Experience Ore # of 2nd ItemBronze 1 6 Copper 1 TinLunar 1 - Lunar -Blurite 8 8 Bluerite -Iron 15 12.5 Iron 50%Silver 20 13.7 Silver -Elemental 20 7.5 Elemental 4 CoalSteel 30 17.5 Iron 2 CoalGold 40 22.5 (56.2) Gold -Mithril 50 30 Mithril 4 CoalAdamantite 70 37.5 Adamantite 6 CoalRune 85 50 Rune 8 Coal
Smelting Notes

The 50% for smelting Iron ore means that you will only get about half of the ores that you try to smelt. The other ores are wasted and just disappear into the furnace if they aren't good enough.By wearing a Ring of Forging, you'll have a 100% chance to smelt Iron into bars, and each ring has 140 uses.Smithing Gauntlets - Members have a chance to have their Steel Gauntlets enchanted into GoldSmith Gauntlets. When you smelt a Gold Bar while wearing these, you'll earn 56.2xp per bar.Elemental Bars require you to have completed the Elemental Workshop Quest.Blurite Bars require you to have finished the Knight's Sword Quest.Furnaces
You'll find a number of Furnaces throughout RuneScape:

Free-Play furnaces can be found in Al Kharid, Lumbridge, Falador, and in the Wilderness north of Edgeville.Member's furnaces can be found in Ardougne, Shilo Village, Entrana, Port Phasmatys, Rellekka and Tyras' Camp.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Smithing Items
With your metal bars in hand, it's time to make some armor, right? Not quite. You first need a Hammer to work the metal with, and you can buy one from any local General Store. Now you can begin smithing items by finding an Anvil and using a metal bar with it. This will bring up a graphical menu with all of the different weapons, armor, and other items you can make. When the menu comes up, pay attention to the colors of the names and number of bars:

White Name - You're a high enough level to smith the item.Blacked-Out Name - You need a higher smithing level to smith the item.# of Bars in Green - You have enough bars to make the item.# of Bars in Red - You need more bars in order to smith the item.

Now you can choose the item you wish to smith, and if you have enough bars and a high enough level, you will smith it. You can right click on an object in the smithing item and select to make multiple items at once. This is much faster than just making one item at a time.

Anvils
There are many Anvils that can be found throughout RuneScape. Freeplayers can find Anvils in Varrock, the Dwarven Mines, Doric's Anvil building, and south of Port Sarim. Members can find them in Yanille, West Ardougne, Port Khazard, Seer's Village, north of Tai Bwo Wannai and Port Phasmatys.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Item-Specific Info
Some items can only be smithed after completing a quest, and others may need to be smithed in a specific way. Here is some useful info to help you out.

Bronze Wire
Currently Bronze Wire is used only in the Creature of Fenkenstrain and Shilo Village Quests.

Bronze-Rune Nails
These are smithed 15 at a time, and are used in certain quests including Dragon Slayer, Horror From the Deep, In Search of the Myreque and Zogre Flesh Eaters. They are also used in the Construction skill for building furniture.

Dart Tips
Smithed 10 at a time, although you must first complete the Tourist Trap Quest before having the ability to make them. You can add feathers to make them into a throwing weapon.
Claws

These can be smithed after completing the Death Plateau Quest.
Cannonballs

After smelting a bar of Steel, use the Bar with a Furnace while carrying a Cannonball Mould with you. They are made in sets of 4, using a single Steel bar each time. You can only make these after completing the Dwarf Cannon Quest.

Runescape Mining Guide

Pickaxes The first of all you'll need to find a pickaxe, else u can't mine. This is a pickaxe: There are different kinds of pickaxes: Bronze, iron, steel, mithril, admantite, and rune. Under here are the levels shown you must have before you can mine with them and the levels shown you must have to wield them.

40The best place to buy a pickaxe is Nurmof's pickaxe shop. This shop can be found in the Dwarven mines. Nurmof sells all kind of pickaxes and he can also repair a broken pickaxe. This are the prices for the pickaxes in Nurmof's pickaxe shop:

The basicsWhen you have a pickaxe you have to find a mining spot. There are many mining spots all around Runescape, but all the main spots have a pickaxe 'sign' on the mini map, so you can easily recognise one.The sign looks like this: When you are arrived at a mining spot you'll see that not every rock is the same, so first before you're going to mine you'll have to prospect the rock (unless you already know what's in the rock), this way you'll find out what's in the rock. To prospect a rock you have to right click and then prospect rock. When you've prospected the rock, and you know what kind of ore is in it, it's time to mine the rock. To mine the rock just left click on the rock and you'll start mining. There are for every kind of ore different levels required to mine, and not every ore can be mined on the same mining spot, so you have to train before you can mine better ores. This are the levels required to mine the ores, and the experience gained from mining it:

Mining extra's Dwarven stoutA dwarven stout is a beer which gives you +1 mining and +1 smithing level for a short time. This can be very usefull for mining an ore you normally can't mine because your mining level is 1 level too low or for acces to the mining guild.A dwarven stout can be bought for 3 coins from kaylee who works in the bar in the centre of Falador, near Falador west bank and Falador general store.

Runescape Agility

Agility is one of those skills in Runescape that are very hard and long to train, but are worth ever second of it in the send because it has so many uses. Agility is a members only skill so you will not be able to use this skill innless you are members. Agility is very important in the game of Runescape because with it your run “energy” will respond faster making you run for longer periods of time, you will also save time with Agility because you can go through shortcuts with certain levels of agility.

Now that you know a little bit about Agility your probably wondering how you train Agility, There are nine places where you can train Agility and these are called “Courses”. The nine courses are, The Gnome Sronghold Course [level 1], The Brimhaven Agilty Arena [level 1], The Skullball Game [level 25], The Agility Pyramid [level 30], The Penguin Course [level 30], The Barbarian Outpost Course [level 35], The Ape Atoll Course [level 48], The Wilderness Course [level 52], The Werewolf Course [level 60], and the Dorgesh-Kaan Course[level 70].
Now that you know where to train, you’re probably wondering when to train at each one of the courses. Well in this section I will be giving you a step buy step process of the fastest way to get to 99 Agility.

1 – 40: Train on the Gnome Stronghold Course all the way up to level 40, I know you can do the Barbarian Outpost at level 35 and yes that is a good course, but you will fail the obstacles a lot, so its best to wait until level 40.

40 – 52: Now train on the Barbarian Outpost, this course is good because you won’t fail much at this high of levels and you get great experience.

52 – 99: For the rest of the levels the best place to train is in the Wilderness Agilty Arena, this place may be unsafe, but if you do it on a low level world and don’t bring and good items then you won’t loose anything.

Tip: While training try and only wear things that make you weigh less, for example, Boots of Lightness, Spotted Capes, and Spottier Capes.
Here is a list of all the shortcuts you can do with Agility

Here is a list of all the shortcuts you can do with Agility

Runescape Attack

Attack is one of those skills in Runescape that everybody needs and wants, without attack you wont be able to hit very high at all, also you wont be able wield any strong weapons without attack. Attack is one of the few skills that will raise your combat level no matter what type of character you are.

Don’t think that attack is only good for killing monsters, attack is also crucial for player killing in the wilderness, if you go Pking without attack you will have a lot of troubling killing your enemy no matter what level they are.

Now that you know what the skill attack is all about I bet you’re wondering the fastest and most efficient way to raise it fast.

Note: To get attack experience you need to be fighting with the fighting style called “Stab” or “Lunge”.

1 – 15: If you’re free to play I would suggest killing chickens in Lumbrige, chickens never hit you so you shouldn’t die, and you can sell there feathers for 10gp each so you can make some cash. Members should train on rock crabs on Waterbirth Island, rock crabs have 50 HP and never hit.15 – 30: All the way from 15 to 30 free to players should be killing cows either in Lumbridge or South of Falador. The cow pin south of Falador are closer to a bank, being closer to a bank is very helpful because you can sell the cows hides for 100gp each. Members should still be killing rock crabs.

30 – 50: From 30 to 50 free to players should kill Hill Giants in the Edgeville Dungeon; you can either bury the big bones for prayer experience or sell them 400 each. Members can either stay at rock crabs or go to Hill Giants if you need prayer experience.

50 – 80: This is where it gets hard, but I think free to players should still train on Hill Giants, or go to Moss Giants. Members should stay at rock crabs, or kill Green dragons and sell the bones and hides for about 2.5k each.

80 – 99: Its almost impossible for free to players to get this high but some have, the best way would have to be killing ice giants southwest of Port Swamis. Members can keep killing rock crabs, or train on various dragons of there choice. Also Hell Hounds are nice to train on if you want level three clue scrolls.

Ok, so now you have a super high attack level and you’re wondering what cool weapons you can use, well here is a list.

Level ------------ Weapon
1 ------------ Bronze
1 ------------ Iron
5 ------------ Steel
10 ------------ Black
20 ------------ Mithril
30 ------------ Adamant
40 ------------ Rune
50 ------------ Granite
60 ------------ Dragon

Now I think you’re ready to go out there and fight all those monsters and gain some great cash and experience!
